1. What explicit consent is
Explicit consent is approval that relates to a specific subject, is informed and is given freely. That is why the two headings below are presented separately, neither is ticked by default, and neither is a condition of the other.
2. Marketing e-mail
When switched on, we may e-mail you about new events and product news. You can withdraw this consent with one click from the link at the bottom of every message or under Settings › My consents.
3. Usage analytics
When switched on, three things happen. Events measuring which screens are used are sent to the usage analytics provider. What became of the recommendations shown to you (seen, opened, turned into a registration) is recorded tied to your account. Which event pages you open and which events you save are also kept as a single record per day and used to rank the events recommended to you. We use these records to measure and improve how accurate recommendations are. When switched off no analytics event is sent, no recommendation or interest record tied to your account is kept, and no feature of the site or the app is disabled.
Totals with no identity in them (“this event was shown to 100 people and 12 opened it”) do not depend on this consent and are collected from everyone. They contain nothing that identifies you or the person recommended to you. Recommendation and interest records tied to your account are kept for 180 days, the totals for 730 days. From the moment you withdraw consent, no new record tied to your account is created. These records are not shared with sponsors or any other third party. The ones tied to your account are part of the file when you export your data and are deleted immediately when your account is deleted.
Screen usage measurement is not set up today and no provider is used for it. Even with this switch on, no screen event is sent until it is. Once it is set up, the provider’s name and country are added to the transfer table of the Personal Data Protection Notice. Because we write no cookie that requires consent on the web, we show no cookie banner either. The Cookie Policy lists every cookie we do write.
4. International transfer
International transfer is not the subject of this statement and does not rest on your explicit consent. Which provider processes which data in which country, and the basis for the transfer, are set out in the transfer section of the Personal Data Protection Notice. If you do not want mobile notifications, simply do not grant your device’s notification permission.
5. Withdrawing your consent
You may withdraw any consent at any time under Article 7. Withdrawal takes effect going forward: processing carried out on the basis of consent until that moment remains lawful, and processing stops from the moment you withdraw.
